In 1811 Rev. Sparke Hutchings & the East India Company had a vision to build the first Anglican Church in South East Asia.  In 2011 Rev. Charles Samuel had a vision to harness the history, entwine it with Evangelism, Spiritual Guidance & Counseling & make these four things available to Malaysians & Visitors from all over the world, but the vision didn’t end there.  He wanted to create a Centre where people could come & view the Art collection but also sit in peace & read or be able to have someone to help if they have a personal problem, are lonely or have lost their way & need help to re-connect with God or to find God for the first time.

The Heritage Centre, opened on 24 April, 2016 by the Rt. Rev. Ng Moon Hing, Archbishop of Malaysia, is home to the Church’s art collection. There’s a small coffee shop offering home made cakes, Fine freshly brewed coffee, a variety of Teas, Cool Drinks, Health Drinks, Shakes and various Snacks.  With a menu which changes weekly It caters for "Dine In or Take Away". There is also a  “Book Nook”, Souvenirs & the Famous Bicentenary Collection of merchandise.
Copies of Leslie James' Researched and Written "The Church of St. George the Martyr, Penang: A Bicentenary Guide to the Memorials & Historical Artefacts" is on Sale for MYR 15 a Copy.

In it’s short life the Centre has already been able to offer meaningful help to several People who were in great distress. Where would "they" have spent the night if we had not have been here? Would "they" have received the medical treatment "they" so desperately needed?
The Heritage Centre offers a small counseling service, by appointment.

Yes, with God’s help, we are well on the way to turning Bishop Samuel’s vision into a reality.  If you have not already done so the St. George’s Church Guiding Team invites You to come and visit,
sit and enjoy the ambiance while sipping on a finely brewed coffee or a Boh tea while relaxing or reading one of our many books.

We look forward to welcoming you to the St. George’s Heritage Centre

The REACH Team, made up of medical professionals and volunteers led by Bishop Charles Samuels, has recently returned from yet another field trip via the Cameron Highlands to Pos Pulat via Gua Musang.

On this occasion the Team were invited into an Orang Asli Kampong with a specialised delivery of medical supplies for the residents of Pos Pulat, which included dental care training, essential medical checks such as blood pressure, diabetes and general health checks for all, including babies and the elderly.

Volunteers not only taught the kids how to brush their teeth but also how to use the donated hoola-hoops and soccer balls as well !
