In 2017, in conjunction with the Bicentenary of St. George’s Church, the Church has been presented with a new pipe organ which has been donated to the Church by the Family of the Late Datuk Tan Kim Yeow (1922-1997) in his memory.

Built by Mander Organs of London at the cost of L1080092£280,000 (RM1.5 million), the new pipe organ has been made with an organ case of African Teak (iroko), a console of English Oak and pipe-shades of Limewood. It has taken over 12 months to construct.

The organ is of a similar size to the 1899 Diamond Jubilee organ with 17 stops (19 ranks) consisting of 1,050 pipes in total. It has been sited at the top of the North aisle on a movable platform and has been designed so it can be relocated over the West door of the Church should the old organ gallery be rebuilt.

In order to ensure durability & ease of maintenance in the tropical climate, the organ has been designed with a fully mechanical floating key action & a mechanical stop action. Only the blower, tremulant & lights are electric.

Keys are covered with polished bone, sharps are of solid ebonySt
